May You Rest In Peace, Larry.

Image183_2 IN LOVING MEMORIES ….. LARRY TAN

At exactly 12am. on the 20th. of October 2006 (Friday)…..our dear joker and fun-to-be with hasher, Larry Tan, cut the cake that mark his 50th. birthday in his factory where he work as a very respectable manager. A few hours after he celebrated his birthday, a tragic accident happened to him when he went to checked on a kiln in his factory. An explosion blasted him with great impact that sent him hitting on an iron grill fence. He fell unconscious on the floor with 3rd degree burns all over his head and body.

In hospital, the doctors confirmed that his brain can no longer function and his eyes and abdomen were burnt severely. Larry…his life was only supported by a machine that kept his heart pumping. All his colleagues, friends and members rushed to the hospital to witness something so hard to accept. The only thing we could do was just pray. Larry’s wife and children who were residing in Australia were notified. No one could feel the pain more than his beloved family who were so far away when all this happened.

On the 21st. of Oct. 2006 (Saturday) at about 2pm, Larry’s heart stopped pumping. God had created him on this day and called him back on the same day…He left us…to be with the Lord in heaven. It was a great loss to all of us who had hashed with him before. Hash activities will not be the same anymore without him croaking out his "Lancang Kuning" on our bus trips. We had just recently praised him that his pronunciations of mandarin songs sounded more accurate now. Who knows now?…Larry may still be singing his songs on his way up to heaven till he reach the arms of God.

May you rest in peace, Larry . We will always remember you as a great friend, a true hasher and a good entertainer. Petals
